My wife Deborah and I moved into Oyster Quay in December 2016. We had often come here to the cinema and restaurants so it seemed a good thing to do in our retirement. 00I worked in Aerospace Engineering for forty-five years for various large companies but always on the same site due to takeovers. My last position was as Engineering Services Manager with staff locally and also at sites in Dorset and Devon. I was invited to join the Board in November 2017 and the other directors appointed me Chairman in 2018. My wife and I like to be involved with the Port Solent community and are both members of the Port Solent Yacht Club, the Residents Association of Port Solent (RAPS) and the Oyster Quay Snooker Club.

Born in London to the historic sound of the Bow Bells, my early years were shaped by the resilience of the city. After completing my education I jumped straight into my career at 16, beginning my journey as an articled Chartered Quantity Surveyor. The bulk of my professional life was spent with Cable and Wireless plc, where I eventually rose to lead the Building Services Project Management and Business Continuity teams. After retiring from full-time corporate life in 2004, I spent several years sharing my experience through independent consultancy before officially hanging up my hat in 2007. I moved to Oyster Quay in September 2018, quickly falling in love with the community and the lifestyle here. Driven by a desire to give back and help maintain the standards of our home, I joined the OQML Board in 2022. I am proud to bring my background in surveying and project management to the team to help support the future of our estate.

Tony, and his wife Zoe, bought into Oyster Quay in 2021 but currently live in Northamptonshire. Tony has been CEO and board member on several Technology Services companies over the years. Tony and Zoe both grew up on the Isle of Wight, met and worked in the Cosham area in the 1980’s and are gradually migrating back over time. Usually down at least once a month Tony is always happy to be invited for a cup of tea and chat by any leaseholder.

I came to Oyster Quay in May 2022, largely as a result of Brexit having previously lived overseas in both France and Spain. I moved abroad following a decision to retire early from work. I joined the Board later that year. Prior to my retirement, I spent most of my career in Financial Services, primarily as an Investment Advisor and still run a portfolio of investments for friends and family. It is also largely how I fund my lifestyle now. My current interests include travelling and sport of most kinds (either watching or playing).

Valerie my late wife and I wanted to down size our property in Cranliegh Surrey .
We started looking at Apartments in Eastbourne and work our way along the South Coast. Looking at all The Marina’s and Sea front apartments .
The brief was that it had to have two bathrooms , near a Hospital and Doctor’s Surgery plus shops within easy reach and be safe when we went away in the Winter. At the time I was studying at Portsmouth, doing a Diploma course in Management Studies and came up to Port Solent one evening, liked it and brought Valerie down at the weekend and we both agreed that Oyster Quay ticked all the boxes. We purchased 127 in 1994 and moved in 1997 as we let the Apartment for three years to IBM until we were ready to move . Here we are in 2026 and I am still very happy in Oyster Quay.

My wife Barbara and I moved into Oyster Quay in August 2024 from just up the M27 in Warsash. We have settled in to life here really well and love the community feel of the place. I am a Royal Navy veteran of 28 years service and am currently working as an Engineering Consultant in the nuclear defence industry. I am keen to contribute to looking out for the best interests of the residents and leaseholders in Oyster Quay and want to be able to assist the Board in any way that I can. I was invited to join the Board in June 2025. Please stop and say “Hello” as I am to be seen around the estate and beyond regularly walking Summer our Standard Poodle.

I moved to Portsmouth in 1996 having been enrolled on a Criminology Course. at Portsmouth University. Both myself and my partner Alec moved to Port Solent in February 2024 following a very fulfilled career as a Portsmouth City Councillor and Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Representative on the Police Authority. Having been a Director where I lived prior to moving to Oyster Quay it was somewhat inevitable I would carry on wishing to support and representative my fellow tenants at Oyster Quay.

Moved to Oyster Quay in 2018 after spending 10 years in Dubai working for a major airline. I joined the Board of Directors in 2020 for 2 years then moved back to the Middle East to join another airline. Returned to Oyster Quay in 2025 and have rejoined the Board hoping to support fellow leaseholders.

It was in 1997 that I first came to Port Solent and rented a house, on the water, in Carbis Close. I quickly grew to love the area and in 1999 I purchased my first Port Solent town house in Carne Place. In 2001 after being appointed Head Teacher at Redwood Park, I saved to finally make the purchase of 123 Oyster Quay in 2004. The following years, after my appointment as Headteacher, saw me remain in education and achieve a number of successes. In 2014 I retired at the age of 60 after working in education for 40 years. Early in my retirement a major accident caused me to become paralyzed below the waist and in 2017 I sold 123 Oyster Quay due to access issues. Between 2018 and 2024 I rented different apartments at Gunwharf Quays and was fortunate enough to find an excellent carer to help me with my daily living. When, in 2024 apartment 76 in Port Solent became available it was my carer who persuaded me that she could solve the problem of gaining access to the apartment block. So finally after undertaking the refurbishment of the apartment I returned to the place that I had always felt at home – Oyster Quay.
